System Requirements

To take full advantage of the power of PC Payroll, make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements.

At a workstation PC Payroll client requirements
  • A 32- or 64-bit processor running at 1 GHz
  • One of the following operating systems: Windows XP® (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista® Professional or Windows 7® Professional
  • 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
  • 150MB of disk space1
  • A high-speed Internet connection and a Web browser with a 128-bit SSL v3 encryption protocol (for data transfer)
On the server2 PC Payroll server requirements
  • A 32- or 64-bit processor running at 1 GHz
  • One of the following operating systems: Windows Server® 2003 or 2008 (Service Pack 2)
  • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2000, 2005 or 2008
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 150MB of disk space1
  • The TCP/IP protocol with an SQL2005 or SQL2008 communication port open between the client stations and the server.
  1. Plus 30MB for each 100 additional employees per year, plus the equivalent of twice the database.
  2. For installation in “client-server” mode, the network administrator must be present.
