Privacy and the protection of personal information
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of CGI, Nethris (CGI Payroll Services Centre, Inc.) is committed to protecting the personal and business information of its clients and their employees, by following the rigorous rules of conduct in this area. We enforce CGI’s Global Policy on Privacy and Data Protection to achieve our privacy objectives.
In addition, our employees sign a written commitment to CGI’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct upon hiring, and then once a year thereafter. In order to further protect the personal information of our clients and their employees, access to this information is authorized strictly on a need-to-know basis, in accordance with our client agreements.
Information security
Our processing centres are equipped with video surveillance and fire detection and extinguishing systems. A security team is on duty 24/7. Error-control software monitors information systems, also on a 24/7 basis. Our systems are further equipped with firewalls to filter access requests, and prevent any unauthorized entry.
Online data transfers are protected by the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol with 128-bit encryption, which is the highest-level of online-transaction-safety technology available in North America.
Business continuity
Our processing centres are equipped with emergency generators, uninterruptable power supply systems and redundant information systems for reliable continuity. Nethris also maintains a recovery site and backup plan in case of damage or loss due to disaster or emergency situations.
Certification and compliance
Nethris is one of the only payroll suppliers in Canada with ISO 9001-certified activities and processes. Furthermore, our audit controls comply with the American Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Nethris has also been issued a 5970 audit report by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA).
